Farrah Fang
Farrah Fang (she/her) is a Mexican artist from Houston, TX. Fang is a poet, writer, performer and digital artist. Her written material has been performed in exhibitions presented at Art League Houston (2019) and the Aurora Picture Show (2022) where she has mesmerized audiences with her visceral, commanding voice. Fang’s signature digital artwork, her dramatic maximalist collages, have been exhibited in collaborative shows at Sabine Street Studios (2019) and Alief Art House (2021). Fang has been featured in Remezcla as one of their chosen “40 Emerging, Texas-based Artists to Know” (2020). She has participated in readings sponsored by the Houston Arts Alliance (2020), Sin Muros Latinx Theater Festival (2021) and Tintero Projects (2022). Fang also has worked in performance art, collaborating with Houston artist Ángel Lartigue in transformative and macabre pieces entitled “Operation Psychopomp” (2018) and “6 Daggers” (2019), conducted in Houston dance clubs, in which the duo has examined the ritualization and death of the queer body, paying homage to victims of transphobic violence.
